Jim started his career working at the consulting firms Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company, then joined a McKinsey alum investing money for George Soros. He led the fundraising that brought in $800 million, and ran the fund through the tech downturn of 2000-2002, ultimately returning most of the capital to investors despite a very adverse investing environment. He co-founded a broker dealer (Tangent Capital) and did specialty debt investing before expanding to project finance and fractional CFO activities.
Jim has a degree in engineering and math / economics from Dartmouth, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar (top 5%). He is registered with FINRA (Series 7, 24, and 63) and holds a CPA license.
